AUDITION FAQ

What should I have prepared for my 5 minute audition appointment?

You will be asked to prepare a musical theatre style song that shows off your voice. Please come prepared with sheet music for the accompanist. No acapella auditions or karaoke tracks please.  Headshots and resumes will be accepted but are not required.

Can I attend the dance audition only? Can I attend both?

Yes! Non singing dancers or gymnasts may attend the dance audition only, you will not be asked to sing and you do not need to prepare a song. Alternatively, if you have scheduled  a vocal audition appointment and would like to attend dance auditions as well, you are welcome to do so! We’d love to see at both, but attending both auditions is not required to be considered for the production.

What should I prepare for the dance audition?

Dance auditions will only require comfortable clothing and footwear. Be ready to move!

I can’t make it to auditions!

Contact mainstagecasting1@gmail.com to see if it’s possible to schedule an alternate audition time.

What is production scheduling like?
In general, children begin rehearsals in May (1-3x/week depending on role) and adults begin rehearsals beginning of June. Both child and adult performers should have weeknight availability. If you have conflicts, you will be asked to note them on your audition form.

CHILDREN: Note that technical/dress rehearsals the week leading up to the show can run as late as 10-11pm.
